My name is René Maritz and I have a passion for photography and people. My love for photography started five years ago. It started when I attended my first official music show. Many of my friends who know me, know how passionate I am about music. Fanbase Music Magazine also played a huge role in my life, namely Duzzy Clayton. My gig reviews were featured in the magazine on a monthly basis. Recently, however, I decided to focus mainly on my photography skills.

I wasn’t exposed to the arts while growing up, however, I looked at art with hungry eyes. Names like Van Gogh and Rembrandt were just a few, that fascinated me. Back in the day, we weren’t exposed to the internet, so books opened the eyes to my soul. I delighted in my dad’s art books and could spend hours looking at the various forms of art.

My dad was somewhat of an artist, having shown a keen love of sketching and painting through the years. My mother is a creative person and taught extensive embroidery lessons for many years. I think a part of them, live in me and I owe much of my growth to them. When walking along a road on my way from school, I would look at people and long to capture what I saw – the beauty and raw emotion.

So here I am, my world has opened and I am doing something that I am super passionate about. I believe in capturing the moment and thereby creating memories that last a lifttime.

A tree symbolizes life, growth and beauty and that is why I chose a tree for my logo. If you would like to find out what my rates are, drop me an email and we can meet for a cuppa and discuss options. I would love to meet with you.
